Casa SUNA

Project Présentation

Nestled between the wide stretch of beach and the rugged beauty of the mountains, this vacation home in La Ribera, B.C.S., Mexico, represents peaceful luxury and simple, balanced design. The property is a beautiful blend of nature and modern architecture, perfectly crafted to provide a unique retreat experience.
As visitors arrive, they are welcomed by a clean, stylish entryway. A striking cactus wall introduces two matching structures on either side: a car garage and a service house, each seamlessly integrated into the overall design. Beyond these, desert-inspired patios on both sides guide guests along a path to the main house.
The exterior of the main house and its buildings is covered in local stone, blending with the surrounding sand. As you approach, the roof gently rises, drawing the eye toward the sky. The building’s colors and materials suit the coastal setting, with beige concrete that mirrors the color of the sand and warm wood accents that reflect the nearby desert. These choices help the house blend naturally with its surroundings.
The home is thoughtfully designed around a central circular patio, serving as the heart of the house. This unique feature is not only a focal point but also a versatile space for relaxing, meditating, and socializing. In the center of the patio, a fire pit is surrounded by a circular sofa, encouraging guests to gather and enjoy quiet moments. The open design of the patio frames the night sky, providing a perfect spot for stargazing under the calm glow of the fire.
The house includes six bedrooms, each designed with a simple and calming aesthetic. The master bedroom offers views of the beach, while a second master suite faces the circular patio. Two additional bedrooms share a bathroom with a bunk room and overlook a desert-inspired patio at the back of the house. The bathrooms are finished in travertine marble, giving the home a clean and elegant feel while staying true to the materials used throughout. The living spaces surrounding the central patio open fully, from the entrance to the beach terrace, allowing for natural airflow and smooth transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces.
At the front of the property, facing the untouched beach, the social area extends into a large terrace. Here, a series of simple concrete blocks form the pool, jacuzzi, and steps leading directly to the sand. This design strengthens the connection to the beach and ensures a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living.
This coastal retreat in La Ribera is more than just a vacation home; it is a place that celebrates the natural beauty surrounding it, offering a peaceful blend of relaxation, luxury, and a connection to every element of the site: the sky, the beach, the desert, and the mountains.
