Andrej Strehovec (1978, Slovenia) is an authorized architect, critic/reviewer, independent custos, international selector, juror, theorist, intermedia designer, scenographer; a graduate of the Faculty for Architecture at the University of Ljubljana.
He has been a professional architect since 2004, designing public buildings, housing, interiors and is an author of awarded architectural and urbanistic competitions.
As an architectural critic, he has been publishing in the field of architectural theory (Piranesi magazine, DaNS, Hiše, AB, RIBA, PRO Bauhaus, Archalp, SEE) since 2010, while contributing online and to radio releases, and as a guest lecturer at art centers and universities.
He is collaborating internationally on intermedia art projects, working at the intersection between humanities, science, technology and scenography, using principles of capsular design. He was a member of the management and editorial board at DaNS association and DaNS magazine (2018-2022). He is the recipient of the prestigious architectural award, the Golden Pencil 2019, awarded for excellence by the Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning of Slovenia (ZAPS). He is also a member of the ZAPS Assembly (2023-2027) and serves as the National Selector for the International Architectural Piranesi Award (2018-…).
